A thoughtful way to engage youths in Gram Panchayats
A sizable population of youth who connect with Gram Panchayats (GPs) as skilled workers learn skills outside the formal system.
However, the increasing responsibilities at the level of gram panchayats is making it crucial for the GPs to engage with skill certified personnel for implementing their programs, in conformity with certain minimum standards and aspiring always to better quality service delivery.

The initiative aims at mainstreaming the skilled workers who have learnt skills outside the formal system through recognition of prior learning
The project envisages to:
Making the unregulated workforce engaged with the Gram Panchayats ‘Skills Certified’ through RPL
A total of 9888 beneficiaries have been identified by the GPs in the 4 blocks to participate in the RPL

At the end of the pilot,
all the skilled workers engaged with the Gram Panchayat would be SKILL CERTIFIED and
the Gram Panchayat would be in position to abide by the revised guidelines
of engaging only SKILL-CERTIFIED workers.
